Miniority Homebuyer Assistance Collaborative (MHAC)
MHAC is a unique initiative of organizations such as; The African American Alliance for Homeownership (AAAH), Hacienda CDC, and Portland Community Reinvestment Initatives Inc. (PCRI), working to address the homeownership challenges faced by underserved communites.
One of the MHAC goals is to facilitate culturally specific homebuyer education and counseling in English and Spanish.
In addition, we want to reduce the increasing number of mortgage foreclosures and support homeowner retention for future generations.
In 2009-10 MHAC will award it's third round of funds for $2,000 grants to first time homebuyers for downpayment/closing cost assistance (guidelines and restrictions will apply).
