On Saturday, August 16th, AAAH joined The Miracles Club and dozens of other passionate community organizations for the annual Portland Soul Stroll.
Hosted by The Miracles Club’s Wellness Within Reach program, Soul Stroll is a community-centered event dedicated to promoting health and wellness within Portland’s African American community. Its mission is to make physical activity and wellness resources accessible to all, with a focus on preventing and managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, which continue to disproportionately impact our community.
This year’s event was especially inspiring as we heard from former Senator Margaret Carter—the first Black woman elected to Oregon’s legislature—who shared powerful words about community, resilience, and health equity!
