On Saturday, May 18th, and Sunday, May 19th 2024 AAAH provided free bulk item disposal services for 30 BIPOC residents living in N x NE Portland. Free pickups took place throughout the weekend, primarily serving our 55+ neighbors, those with mobility impacting disabilities, and those making less than 80% of Portland's area median income (AMI). On Saturday, May 27th, 2023 from 9am-3pm AAAH's community partners removed hard to dispose of items from the homes of Portlanders who have not had equitable access to waste elimination. A large Drop Box (dumpster) onsite in the ReBuilding Center's parking lot was available for free disposal of bulk waste, furniture, appliances, cardboard, mattresses, bed frames, box springs, building materials, bagged yard debris, and more.
