Cooling Portland: Now Accepting Applications for dual-season Heat Pumps
Did you know that the AC units offered by Cooling Portland can heat AND cool your home?
AAAH is partnering with PCEF to provide free, portable air conditioning units to vulnerable populations in Portland most at-risk for developing health complications during extreme weather. The units are multi-seasonal appliances which can be set to heat your home in the colder months or cool during warmer weather. Heat pumps are typically more energy efficient than traditional ACs, which could also lower your monthly utility bill. See the eligibility requirements below to determine if you qualify, then click here to apply today!
- Recipient must live in the City of Portland

A chart of income and household size thresholds is available here.
Distribution of AC units is being prioritized to assist our most at-risk neighbors. Vulnerable populations are defined by the program as people with low incomes and who also have two or more of the following risk factors:
Are over 60 years of age.
Have medical conditions that increase risk of heat-related illness.
Are living alone.
If you live in a housing unit managed by one of the following housing providers in the Cooling Portland Program, contact your property manager directly to determine if you are eligible to receive a cooling unit. Housing providers are currently only serving people who live in the housing that they manage.
